21 May - 20 June

Imaginary Gemini Constellation

Symbol of Gemini, the Twins in the constellation depiction are Castor and Pollux. The identical twins, were inseparable in their looks and actions. They had many adventures together, most notable with Jason on the Argo. Zeus immortalized both amongst the stars in the heavens. Since then, when sailors saw these two stars together, they knew their journey would be prosperous.

Gemini Time

May and June are the most vibrant months in the whole year in the Northern Hemisphere. The Sun is climbing, to reach its highest point in the sky on the Summer Solstice. This translates to the idea of being High, Bright and Mighty. Sun in Gemini is very youthful, robust and self-confident energy.

June is named after the Roman goddess Juno, the wife of Jupiter; the name comes from the Latin word iuniores, meaning "younger ones". She was a patron of marriage and children. In June in many countries around the world the Children's Day is celebrated. It is a time of  joyous outdoors activities, many sport competitions and games.

The duality (if not multiplicity) of its nature means it cannot be limited to one job, one place, one relationship or one hobby.

There is also a fascination for anything bright, shiny and new. Interests in the latest gadgets, garment, headlines etc. Gemini needs to be connected to others and to get the information across. Bound to be self-confident, with bright, reasonable intellect, strong personal point-of-view, and this shiny note of self-importance. May be perceived as superficial, distant, self-absorbed.

Prince Philip personality astro-chart

Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, was born on 10 June 1921, Friday, in Corfu, Greece. This is an astro-chart for the 12:00 GMT of that day.

Sun 18’ Gemini
Moon 16’ Leo
Mercury 13’ Crab
Venus 5’ Taurus
Mars 24’ Gemini
Jupiter 10’ Virgo
Saturn 18’ Virgo
Uranus 9’ Pisces
Neptune 11’ Leo
Pluto 7’ Crab

Prince Philp had a very active and outgoing life with a continuous sense of service. Being the Queen's husband without a particular role, he had to find a place for himself, and make a name for himself. He certainly did.

Sun - Persona
Sun 18’ Gemini

Sun is our overall external personality which we usually take from a father figure in our formative years. To some extent it shows our father's personality (or rather how we perceive it). It shows our vitality, areas of life-interest and how we approach life in general.  It has the most important influence on all the other planets.

Gemini Sun conjunct Mars and square Saturn produces very masculine (Mars) and mature (Saturn) personality. Gemini has quite a robust and confident energy itself; with Mars present here there is a need for outlet of this physical vitality and strong urge to be competitive. As Gemini is the sign of intellect, there is passion (Mars) to debate and engage in mental activity of all types. A formidable thinker (Saturn square).

Male Gemini Sun has usually quite strong and in some way imposing posture. With these aspects a man is highly self-opinionated, worldly-wise and shrewd. The speech is often slow, clear, distinctive, formulating well-thought-through ideas, about practical matters (square Saturn in Virgo). There is old-fashioned morale, sense of obligation; a man of principles, conforming to high standards of masculine virtues

Gemini Sun is not afraid to enjoy the material side of life with a flamboyant showiness. Often wacky, dry sense of humour, taking mischievous delight in disconcerting other, thicker minds.

Natural sociability, broad scope of intelligence with natural Gemini optimism makes him a very noticeable, strong, established personality. He is a law unto himself  and often - to others (Saturn). Can meet any challenges (Mars), especially requiring a cool head and objective reasoning ability (Saturn in Virgo). Prince Philip astro-chart suggests that he saw life from his own point of view, and had rather low empathy level.

Moon - Soul
Moon 16’ Leo

Moon is our internal personality. Moon is connected to what we have learned from our Mother in the very early age of our childhood. Thus it is directly responsible for our programmed instinctive behaviour, care, nurture and support we need and give away, and level of intuition. It shows - to some extent - our mother's character (or how we have perceived it), how and when we feel most safe and secure, and in what areas lies our innate sense of belonging.

Prince Philip's Moon is firmly seated within Leo and we can sense an inbred grandeur, poise, style and distinction. Moon in Leo is intrinsically royal-like. Males tend to be even more pompous and extravagant, striving for lavish and palatial surrounds. Internal willpower is the driving force and there is an instinctive desire for leadership

On the other hand a man with strong Sun position and Leo Moon needs attention, appreciation and admiration for his own creations. A tint of showmanship - as entertaining quality comes naturally.

Truly kind-hearted, good humoured, yet there may had been some very emotionally painful experiences in the past and especially in childhood. May have also been spoiled somehow and thus there would be a carefree attitude - against all odds, and joyful, pleasure-seeking, bright-side attitude of general life-mood.

Likely to be talented in some creative pursuit or in matters concerning speculation, money or art. Trust in gut reaction regarding financial matters and risk taking.

Men usually have quite nurturing and caring attitude, protective of family or - own hobbies and look for Leo-like qualities in partners and marriage. This of course had proven to be almost a perfect match - his wife, Queen Elizabeth II has the Moon in Leo.

Mercury - Intellect
Mercury 13’ Crab

Mercury is how our mind works and its influence is most pronounced in our late childhood years - when we start to learn and recognize things. We are surrounded by many people but most of all we are interested in our peer group or siblings. We learn from them, we are interested how the 'dynamics' of this larger community works and how we can communicate with it. Thus, Mercury shows - the early age environment, ability to learn, areas of interests, and communication skills.

Mercury - mind - in Crab is concerned with protection of home, family life, the past, any particular focus, often a vocation and the whole real estate - as a base of operation.

Thinking is connected to some emotional recollections. Meditative and reflective mind. Good memory and learning abilities. Can become quite difficult to reach for others at times, as needs frequent mental retreats and is best left alone from time to time, to digest own thoughts. Mercury Crab is rather sceptical and distrustful of others, somewhat reserved. Very sympathetic to those who accepts or knows well. If threatened or dissatisfied - can be rather vindictive, easily 'snapping someone's head off'.

Mentally attuned to the past, to people, places, and belongings, clinging on to memorabilia, tradition, heritage. Overall, the mind is quite intuitive, easily picking up the ambience of any gathering.

Venus - Heart
Venus 5’ Taurus

Venus is the planet of love and attraction - in broad terms - what we love, how we love, and who we love. We are quite early aware of what we are appreciative of - in things and people. It tells us about the early teenage years when we were growing up to learn about love for the first time - and how this carries out on through our life. It tells what we value in love relationships.

A person with Venus in Taurus is most often very handsome and attractive. The values relate to wellbeing, stability, comfort, beauty, style. Earthy pleasures, aesthetically pleasing lifestyle, taste for good food, good wine, fine furnishings, clothes, objects and activities that delight the senses. Turned off by vulgar and ill-mannered people. Men with this position seek women with the above comforting qualities.

Relaxed and easy-going; Venus in Taurus attracts prosperity and material security. May be overgenerous or prone to waste money on risky investments (square to Neptune in Leo).

In love is faithful, loyal, sincere, sensual and down-to-earth romantic, but also somewhat possessive. Tendency to view loved ones as ‘acquisitions’ Marriage is viewed as a sound long-term investments.

Mars - Will
Mars 24’ Gemini

We meet Mars energy in our late teen years - when we learn to be confident in our behaviour and participate in life through in action. Mars describes how we act and behave while facing the life challenges and everyday situations.

Mars in Gemini takes many interests and activities - often handling a variety of tasks, simultaneously. Quite fidgety, eagerly pursues new experiences. Most of the energy is channelled through hands. Good for handling instruments, tools, driving. Mars in Gemini likes short trips and usually drives too fast.

Assertiveness, with ability to motivate others; may be quite domineering in familiar environment, sometimes hard to compromise (Mars conjunct Sun).

Ambitious sense of willpower that wants to accomplish tangible physical goals ( square to Saturn).

Acting usually in own self-interest (I Mansion), preferring challenges with typically “masculine” pursuits. A tendency to develop a superiority complex.

Jupiter - Role
Jupiter 10’ Virgo

Jupiter is a planet of our growth, expansion, encouragement, allies. In the young years we are inspired by a particular set of values or roles we imagine to play in life. When we reach maturity - the Jupiter years - we should be able to play this role - it is part of our natural calling.

As a moral stance presented in natal astrology by Jupiter, there is much old-fashioned conservatism in the Virgo placement. Serving a bigger purpose it the main theme of this placement with practical knowledge of structure, order, procedures. Well-organized routine.

Jupiter in Virgo needs to be of service, practically helpful and useful. The sense of pragmatism and realism is strengthened by Saturn conjunction. Strong can-do attitude, a dedication to every day work.

There need to be some grandness in everyday tasks - doing simple things in a big style. Likely to gain recognition for life-long hard work (Jupiter and Saturn in Virgo).

Bit patronizing, stuffy and highly opinionated, needs to take great pride in many endeavours. It sometimes may not be met with full acclamation by others (opposition to Uranus in Pisces).

Saturn - Lore
Saturn 18’ Virgo

Saturn is a planet of Destiny.  The primal 'Lore' is what we are born with,. This is where we start our life: in what background we grow up (hardly we can choose it), and what is the main task 'to master ' in our existence.  The second 'Lore' is what we are becoming in our old age, and the 'Lore' we are eventually leave behind.  Saturn has to be always carefully considered with the Sun and Moon Sign and its aspects.

Saturn in Virgo in IV Mansion brings some difficulties, obstacles, limitations to the domestic arena. High expectation, harsh judgement of himself and often too much from or of others. Fastidiousness, picking on and at somebody, finding faults. Can be considered mean, stingy, tight, mingy. Stern moral attitude makes him sometimes too rigid and critical.

Life is full of dull duties; takes life responsibilities very seriously, though. Saturn in Virgo brings restrictions in opportunities, occupation. A feeling of being doomed in everyday life. Reserve, discontent may follow throughout life unless will learn to love the Virgoan prudence.

The active powers of Sun/Mars squares adopt qualities to be good at research projects, strategies, record-keeping. Prone to accidents and health hazards due to some hectic everyday activity (Sun/Mars square).

Uran - Neptune - Pluto
Generational Planets

Generational planets give us a social and historical background. They stay in one Zodiac Sign for several years, shaping the views, opinions and general vibe of a generation. They have less personal influence but if they are engaged in primary aspects, they have an impact on our psyche.

Uranus 9’ Pisces, Neptune 11’ Leo, Pluto 7’ Crab

The generation planets: Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto tell the story about the historical background we are born into.
