Crystals, Planets, Colors and Chakras

The number 7 is a magical one, and quite down to earth ;) from up high.
Here, a quick glimpse on the relation between chakras, color therapy, astrology and crystals.

Crown Chakra - Violet /White - Sun
Consciousness Awakening
It is a sublimation of the internal, 'lower' energies that need to ascend into a higher state of vibration - in order to awaken to a new sense of Self in the world.
Crystals:
bright amethyst, rose quartz, tanzanite, fluorite, quartz crystal, diamond.

Third Eye Chakra - Indigo - Moon
Intuition Awakening
There is  a state of mind we all experience, a moment of 'revelation' without any logic engaged. Opening the Third Eye, the Pineal Gland, can bring us into a flow of an instant insight, an internal compass we can learn to trust.
Crystals:
dark amethyst, labradorite, dark lapis lazuli, sodalite, sapphire, also selenite and pearls.

Throat Chakra - Blue - Mercury
Communication Awakening
Through our voice, speech, humming,  singing, vocal cords - comes a power that unites many elements in our mind-body-soul complex. It is a tool to express oneself. Also connected to ears - the ability to listen and learn. This is how communication - a state of cooperation - entwines.
Crystals:
aquamarine, kyanite, bright lapis lazuli,  blue chalcedon, turquoise.

Heart Chakra - Green - Venus
Love Awakening
Love is not only about desire, lust or care for the loved ones. It is all encompassing state of being, that accepts all and is at peace wherever it is. It is a key to making meaningful connection.
Crystals:
mossy agate, moldavite, malachite, aventurine, nephrite, emerald.

Solar Plexus Chakra - Yellow - Mars
Will Awakening
Although called 'solar' it is connected to the wilful and strong Mars, and its ability to expres personal power, a very masculine energy, that has been dominating the world since the last 5000 years of civilisation.
Crystals:
yellow amber, citrine, yellow jasper and calcite, bright topaz.

Sacral Chakra - Orange - Jupiter
Creativity Awakening
Our creativity may be blocked when heavy emotions are weighing us down. This charka is about creation, procreation and recreation - all sort of fun, playfulness, potential and expansion.
Crystals:
amber, carnelian, light garnet, agate, orange jasper, dark topaz.

Root Chakra - Red //Black - Saturn
Integrity Awakening
Integrity is like solidity, like grounding - a safe and stable presence, tangible, trustful. We need inner integrity - of our values, of our actions and of our mind. Without this inner skeletal structure we are like a puppet in somebody else's hands, an infantile adult.  This is also our field of protection and cleansing whatever is not coherent with our inner wisdom.
Crystals:
red garnet, jasper, agate, rhodonite, rhodochrosite, red tiger's eye, sardonyx, smoky quartz, black tourmaline, onyx, hematite, ruby.

Heyoka People

Among the emphatic family of Starseeds, Indigo, Crystal and Rainbow Children (of which many are now in their senior years, and of which many are with the symptoms of ADHD and Autistic Spectrum) the term Heyoka has resurfaced.

The name originates from the Native American Dakota and Lakota languages, describing people who are in service of the tricky, satirical forces of nature, that bring about transformation. Similar qualities are present in the Northern Sagas about  Loki character.

Such people often become medicine men and women, often transgressing the given social identity, by the means that they can act as both female and male, as a child and as an adult, and everything in between. They have been seen as Sacred Clowns, laughing at seriousness, grieving when there is too much laughter.

If you find yourself at odds with society's norms, feeling an inner conflict, an opposition, a contradiction to everything you see or think, the Heyoka archetype may be present in you.

You may be seen as a trickster in your family, a black sheep, a wolf among the pack, because of your unusual, often disturbing or eccentric traits of character. When  awakened, you may be a powerful healer and facilitator, helping others to find balance, meaning and alignment with the Soul Purpose.

Before awakening, you often feel highly misunderstood and harshly judged for your erratic behaviour, that usually does not mean any harm. Intrinsically, you know that you need to re-balance whatever there is in front and around you.

The main traits of Heyoka People:

Very Sensitive

When unawakened, unrecognised, unconscious - they seem very vulnerable yet rebellious. They suffer quietly in their inner world or become highly nervous and irritated by other people. They need to realise that they are extremely sensitive to the energy of others, and it is this energy that has this massive conflicting effect on their own mind-body-soul. Because it is not theirs.

Easily - and unconsciously - sensing the thoughts, emotions and intentions of those around, of places or situations, makes them often totally overwhelmed, overstimulated and even exhausted. Fatigue syndrom is quite common.

This can lead to difficulty settling down in life as they are affected by the energy of each and every member of the family and acquaintance circle. They find it hard to know what they want and need to do.

They need to realise they act as a mirror for people and situations, reflecting what  are the feelings or thought patterns floating in the air, and expressing them in a more conscious way.

Mindfulness, Self-Care and Soul Search are key practices here.

Highly Creative

Saying the above, they need to realise their unique and extraordinary way of expression. They often strive to live life in an artistic way. There is an urge to follow their own paths against all odds, and to be in the flow.  This is difficult, as many different forces mis-match their energy field.

This can lead to a troubled life, but when the soul awakens, it is a powerhouse of inspiration for others.

It is especially empowering for the Heyoka to use creative drive in a strong and regular manner. Integrating chaotic creative forces brings peace of mind and settling down.

Deeply Insightful

Seeing the bigger picture and understanding how everything works makes them prone to philosophical depression. They often find it hard to relate to others, as they understand well before others can catch on (or most often - not at all). They have a powerful reservoir of intuitive forces. This has a remarkable emotional and energetic effect on those around them.

This is why they are also easily bored with small talk, as this is often based on superficiality. They don't stand people talking for the sake of talking.

When awakened they easily detect any inauthenticity, insincerity, dishonesty, pretending because - before awakening - they have those traits within themselves and thus can not only recognise them, but make others exposed.

To embrace this gift, they need to reconnect with Higher Self, honouring their true nature. In this manner, every encounter with another human, will have a more profound, cosmic effect.

Rebellious Humour

A very strong inner sense of freedom makes them question any authority figures.
It’s not necessarily that they are a troublemakers. Rather that family and society do not know what to do with them, as they often seem to be a devil's advocate.

With a deeply rebellious sense of humour, that often borders on blasphemy and sheer mockery, many conversations may turn difficult.

Humour is a tool to take a different perspective, and again, it can be used in a powerful way, if it is fully absorbed and understood. It will help others feel good about their own hidden quirkiness.

Even Keel

The most important trait is their inner need to bring balance to every situation, even if it does mean to first bring a bit more chaos to it.  They feel the opposing forces of life in them, and have an innate wisdom and ability to bring equilibrium and more stability.

Because of this they have a hard time with everything that is off-balance or unjust. They are here to make the world more equal, fair-leveled, and even. They may come across as quite outspoken, in a fierce opposition, if there is too much injustice.

CONCLUSIONS

If you find yourself on the ancient Heyoka Path, it is first and foremost important to take care of yourself, and look deep inside yourself on a regular basis.

Setting strong, own boundaries is necessary. It will help you recognise who you are and connect to this vast Universe in a more stable and balanced way. Harmonious relationship is what you are all about.

You will start to be consciously aware of the energy - of people, places, situations, when you will allow yourself to go past the inner conflict, and settle your attention on inner trust and wellbeing.

Integrating and balancing the Light and Dark is what your innermost nature has a natural talent for. So becoming more and more aware of it, your life may unfold in a magical way. Honour your weaknesses and strengths in an equal and honest way. Play around. You will find yourself in the service to Life, effortlessly.

Scientific and Poetic Mind

As you probably live long enough you notice that there are two kinds of people.

There are those whose minds are orientated on facts based evidence, material and tangible, or if invisible - scientifically proven by repeatable experiences, and/or used in the service of humanity. Let's name those as having the Scientific Mind.

There are people whose minds are orientated on beliefs of the spiritual, that there is more to life that meets the eye, that there is a vast, mysterious, intelligent energy that organizes the world, and it can inspire to take action, make discoveries and works of art.
Let's name those as having the Poetic Mind.

It does fit in nicely to what we know about our brain.

Our left half of the brain is intellectual, reasoning, logical, time-bound, down-to-earth.

Our right half of the brain is feeling, imaginative, timeless, playful, creative, away with the fairies.

We use both, but we identify with one or the other more. As we can observe, most of our worldview operates on the Scientific Mind - to see and believe only what the five senses tell us. To discredit everything that the senses or lenses do not show us.

The funny thing is that discoveries of science show us that what our five senses can see is only one tiny option in the world. As Max Planck said - Matter is only a tiny dot on the ocean of energy. There are some mysterious forces and forms of matter that are beyond our visible Universe, beyond our comprehension, and they make 90 per cent or more of what we cannot detect. They are called the Dark Matter and Dark Energy.

The particles on a quantum level behave illogically.  They can be a particle or a wave. Our view of atoms changed completely, as they are not stable elements but vibrating vortexes. The epigenetics tells us that our DNA can change overtime, and we are not doomed by it.

Most of the scientific studies are funded by a very particular aim in mind (the Scientific Mind) that has to be visibly useful and make money. Whoever wants to study the woo-woo disciplines of Extra-Sensory Perception (ESP) such as telepathy, clairvoyance, self-healing, distant healing, precognition, strange apparitions - can do it after-hours or after retiring. It will not be accepted in any University as a line of academic teaching.

As the Scientific Mind lost its open curiosity, and became more dogmatic, the open-to-all-possibilities Poetic Mind has to step in.

And whoever has the time to study the paranormal disciplines, will tell you straight away that there is the Sixths Sense, and beyond, that there is a subtle energy that we can tap in, that there are different ways of communicating with the world, not only through speech and writing.

So, if you want to understand at least a bit of whatever relates to Astrology, Tarot and divination, Crystal healing, Sacred Geometry, etc, you have to activate your Poetic Mind.

Treat those subjects more like art than science, or more like poetic science, because it has its own rules and procedures to follow. Then, we can at least have some platform to start the recognition that there is something more that meets the eye, and it has its validation in our world.

Life is...

Life is abominable. Life is dreadful. Life is horrible. Life is annoying. Life is stupid. Life is boring. Life is interesting. Life is acceptable. Life is likeable. Life is pleasant. Life is attractive. Life is wonderful. Life is delightful.

All of the above are rightful statements, all at the same time. Life, especially here on Earth, is a pretty damn thing. It has so much complexity in polarities that one can occasionally go mad or disconnect oneself from it on so many levels.

Let's not shame those who resonate more on the first six statements about life. Let's not disdain those who see life through the lenses of the last six statements. All of us are right. Everything here has its positive and negative side.

Look at the food. It is an energy for our bodies, it can be tasteful and pleasant. It can also kill us. Be it poisoning, comfort eating, morbid obesity.

Water is necessary. Water can flood our crops and houses. Water killed many people during the gruesome cholera pandemic. The builders who drank beer and were not getting their water supply from infected wells - were the survivors.

The landscapes are beautiful. The land that we want to ground our seeds in, and feed ourselves off - is a tricky little beast. We have to work hard to get those seeds growing in a raw, clearly unwelcoming environment. The land and most of the creatures on it seem to fight against our efforts. Only after years of persistence we may create a beautiful garden. But still, the weather may not be right, one year. And the abundance of apples is rotting away and inviting wasps and slugs.

The roads are an effect of a huge common human effort. They do not rise on their own. We can transport ourselves through them, and all our goods. We can get injured on them. And yes, they devastate the natural woodland.

Look at the trees. They clear the air and make oxygen, give shadow, a rare fruit - but mostly the wood. We have needed it to build our houses, and to warm ourselves up in cold climates. We had to kill them, cut them down. Their roots are a menace when growing too close to buildings. They can fall and make a mess.

Fire is this magical thing, that got us from our animal state to the humanness. We are the only species on Earth that can make and tame fire. How very helpful and essential it has been to our survival and development. How dangerous fire is, untamed.

People are mostly kind and nice. They can also steal things, be irritating, and randomly have murderous intentions.

When we bring forth a new life, we are overflown with love and care for this innocent, vulnerable, little being. Parenthood gives us a surge of positive emotions so we can deal with the inevitable annoyance of bringing up our children.

Life is a wonder, when we see them grow. We want the best for them, and in the process of this - we often become overprotective or over-demanding. The love we want to give them becomes a bit of a poison. They grow into selfhood with fat bodies, broken souls or hearts of stone. And one day they simply leave our homely hearth. We have to deal with harsh reality, back again.

Life is tough. Life is hard. Life does suck. Let's admit it. We are living in serious denial if we do not see it. We force ourselves into positivity to look at the lovely pleasures. This is what we do. We buy stuff, we stuff ourselves and our houses with it, we bring up children, we buy them things, only to forget that life is what it is - tough, harsh and hard. We want to forget about it - all the time.

We all want to make the world a better place, in a variety of ways. We strive for success in those fields that will make life more easy and pleasant for ourselves and other generations. We want to live in paradise where everybody loves each other in eternal harmony. In all these efforts we miss the point.

Life on Earth cannot be changed, at this stage. It has been designed as a marvellous place with incredibly tough conditions. It is a place where our unconscious souls would go through hell and high water, to get what they want. Only we still miss the point, and we hardly know what we do want, and why we are here.

How do you feel reading this text? What thoughts and emotions have come up in your mind? Have you ever contemplated life in its holistic view - with the bad and good - all at once?

The thing is, that we try to make ourselves feel good in life at all cost, because internally and obviously - we sense and see that life is full of staggering nuances. It feels like it is threatening us, almost all the time.

This is the primeval fear that not only we all humans have, but all animals do. It is a very powerful emotion that lives inside everyone of us, and invisibly directs our life from the bottom of our souls.

It is the emotion that we try to fly from, far away, consuming or creating the goods that let us forget about the fear. We try to fight with it through attempts of changing others, and the world, that will suit our need for safety. We try to turn against this primeval fear by blaming others and everything around for our unhappiness and suffering.

The subtle change occurs when we turn our attention towards the fear instead of constantly running away from it. Because if we are running away from it, we are running away from a part of ourselves that lives in the dungeon of our subconscious. And this is where the threads of our life are being made. This is where our habits are made, and our conditioning occurs.

This is what makes our lives feel helpless and hopeless - always to some degree, more or less. Thus we are forced to entertain ourselves to death with all the stuff life brings. Our life has then only one meaning - to cover the fear and its children: shame, blame, embarrassment, anger, hate, and all negative, uncomfortable emotions that we can think of, and feel.

It is scary to look at the primeval fear, we all want to run away from it, to hide it, but in reality we are run by it.

To awaken, to be free is to look at the beast. To accept that the fear is there. To make peace with it. To gather all our kindness, compassion and pure love and gently touch the space within us with blessing.

Fear can be transformed and can become our ally. The residual emotions it holds, that are attached to it, become liberated. We become less fearful in our actions, and we notice that our actions do not arise from fear anymore or solely. Fear is transformed into a helping hand that gives us more clear signals whenever there is a danger, and helps us avoid it. It keeps us away from unnecessary trouble.

Then we realize how much we need it. As in this Earth environment everything is a potential danger or potential blessing, the transformed energy of fear assists us to choose the path of least resistance. We navigate our life in a more graceful way, seemingly effortless. We are aware of what life is and accept its rules. It becomes a playground for our souls that can freely evolve. And then and only then we are able to see life in its balanced and most encouraging way, choosing the words:

Life is interesting.

Sorcery and Magic

“Magic comprises the most profound contemplation of the most secret things, their nature, power, quality, substance, and virtues, as well as the knowledge of the whole nature.”

H.C. Agrippa von Nettesheim, De Occulta Philosophia, 1533

The magic most people know of is a form of an illusion performed on stage. The real magic has the same 'word ingredients' - that life is an 'illusion' - a perception of our five senses, and that our is life is a 'stage'. Both claim to 'bent the reality', and 'make extraordinary things happen', living us in awe and astonishment. Both require skills and the use of the most magical tool we are equipped with - our brains.

How to start your adventure with real magic? First, as with all spiritual quests - allow it to happen. We are so immersed in physical reality and cold logic, in what our five senses can perceive, that we lost touch with the more subtle occurrences in our life.

Magic is an activity that connects other dimensions with our own reality. In order to perform it, you will need to learn a 'magical state of being', a different set of vibration than those you experience in your normal daily life.

You need to reset your brain to feel different energies, experience more subtle states of mind and being. A perfect feeling of integrity, unity, alignment, invincibility, certainty, creativity, combined with heightened self-awareness - this is how words would describe it.

The intention is the key. Intent to achieve this state, meditate, contemplate, ponder, stop your world to a short halt during the day and feel the environment you are in as well as your inner world, the whole body.

Different emotions live in different parts of our bodies. The way to deal with negative feelings is to accept them and see them from a very distant perspective. See if your body is tense in any part. You need to feel positive, comfortable and confident in your own body in order to perform magic.

The most important part of our bodies, apart from the brain, is the belly, our guts, literally. If you struggle with anxiety, low mood, consider changing your diet. There is a section related to how diet can influence our mood, check it out.

In order to exercise your intuition, it will be a good idea to learn meditation. One important thing to consider - if your life-style and work require a lot of sitting down, do not choose sitting down meditation. Walking or jogging would be better for you. If you have an active lifestyle and feel physically tired, sitting mediation is best.

See how intuition works best with you. There may be a different kinds, depends on what personality you are: more physical, emotional, intellectual or inspirational. Intuitive hints may come as certain physical sensation, feelings, ideas, or urges.

I am all against using a lot of magic equipment. Keeping magic private, to yourself is what in today world seems to work best. But if you are a very physical type of personality you may find working with magic tools interesting, inspiring and grounding.

Magic spells

The words you prepare have to  ring a true bell within your whole being. You may choose lyrics from a song you particularly like describing what you would like to achieve. Invoke them in your imagination as often as possible.

Incantations are the old way of doing spell magic, of uttering the words that mean so much to you. Do not be attached to the outcome, let it fly in space and dance. Do what you need to do, do not bother yourself with taking too much action, wait until an visible opportunity will come. You will know when and how to act.

What we are trying to do here is to not live on a default system you were programmed to live. We all are programmed for the mere sense of basic survival. Life is not interested in giving us more than that, and sometimes it is even less than that when we need to fight with harsh circumstances.

Life forces are not really interesting in you, not even in humankind, life is interested in life itself - to carry on, regardless. These are non-human energies, and realising this can be quite scary. But do know that there are other possibilities available to us if we will awaken to them. Living a more conscious life, being more influential, seeing the little intention happening in your life, growing your awareness - these are substantial things that should matter to you.

Some people are born with extraordinary powers without realising them. We are not equal. Those people are big business personalities who have strong executive powers. Magic is really nothing else but a strong executive power - to make things you want to - happen.

The Four Elements

The Four Classical Elements are the basis for many metaphysical subjects such as astrology, tarot, alchemy. Ancient philosophers had seen the world to be composed of a mixture of Earth, Water, Air, and Fire. Also four states of matter recognised in modern science are: solid, liquid, gas, and plasma.

"Earth My Body; Water My Blood; Air My Breath; and Fire My Spirit"*

Earth is the 'first' element, most dense, solid and immovable. It is the foundation, the core and the grounding of the material world, and it corresponds to physical body, the bones and the muscles.

Water is the 'second' element, most soft, cold, fluent, flowing, influenced and influential. Water needs a solid container of the Earth element. It corresponds to our circular system of blood and hormones and the emotional states.

Air is the 'third' element, most subtle, neutral, ephemeral, evanescent, elusive, nimble and pervasive. Versatile, all-encompassing. It corresponds to the nervous system, intellect, thoughts, communication.

Fire is the 'fourth' element, most active, volatile, hot, fierce, blazing, transforming. It corresponds with the digestive system, energy, movement, direct action, behaviour.

All elements are of equal importance.

The nature of the elements can be assigned to the corresponding four seasons, four parts of the day, four directions, four main phases of the Moon, four cycles of our life (and everything we do in life): the growing (in physicality), the maturation (emotional), the maturing (intellectual) and the ageing (spiritual). As this is a cycle it never ends, only repeats in cyclical manner.

Four Personality Types

The four personality types were known in the ancient times (called temperaments), and they are sometimes used in modern psychology:

Earth - Physical
They are very down-to earth, practical, reliable, deliberate, persistent. They like routine, procedures, slow motion. They take care of the material world and are interested in the tangible material realm. May become too rigid, stubborn, lazy. Their physical constitution is sturdy, earthy, stocky.

Water - Emotional
They are very sensitive and often introverted. The constant flow of feelings can be a blessing (intuition) or a curse (moodiness). They easily connect with anything relating to art, religion, and romance. They are emphatic, easily touched and easily influenced. The physical body is usually round and soft.
A sculptor is an example of Earth-Water type. These are people who do creative work with their hands (arts and crafts, cooking, furniture making). Painting in itself is solely a Water element activity.

Air - Intellectual
They are the thinkers, their minds are preoccupied with theories and ideas. Intellectuals have usually little appreciation for hard physical work, they do not like the sweat and toil. They have lofty minds and tend to look from above on those 'below' them. They physical constitution is usually thin, bony.
The combination of Air and Water for example gives a very reflective, introverted, sensitive personality that is less active on the outside, preferring to contemplate life. It can offer true insights, intuitive powers, greater understanding. Such a person can be called lazy by the Earth/Fire types.

Fire - Spiritual
They are the passionate doers, with bold executive powers and willpower. They like action, they are energetic, inspirational, innovative, entertaining. With vivid self-expression and confidence, they may become tyrannical or undertake a careless risk. The physical body is usually strong and stringy.

The Eternal Dance

Everything in Nature is moving. We can ascribe four different modes of moving action to the four elements to understand more how everything permeates and penetrates one another.

Earth - Motor - as a tangible thing

Water - Motion - as in the e/motion

Air - Movement - in a broad sense

Fire - Mobility - as a singular act

The Four Elements in Astrology

Four in One

According to the esoteric tradition, the four elements can be described as a four components of a chariot, that also represents our constituents:

Coach - Body - Earth
Horses - Emotions - Water
Coachman - Mind - Air
Lord, Master - Self - Fire

Our Body is the chariot/coach; it has to be in a good shape to do its job.
The horses are the Emotions that twitch and pull and sometimes drag us along.
The coachman is our Intellect- attention, the part of the mind that does its job and drives the business of life.
And the whole coach of life is taking a ride with the passenger, our Will to make things happen the way the passenger or owner wants.

Our astro-chart shows which part of the system we are most connected to.
Some people are driven by the Body, some by Emotion, Some by Intellect, some by Self

In some cases the coachman (Intellect) runs the coach (Body) havoc or astray where the connection (respect) towards the Master (Self) is not present.

In other cases, the coachman does not take care of the coach (body) and/or the horses (emotions), and they go into disrepair and despair.

Four Elements in Modern Times

There are many inspirations behind the four elements and the four seasons in art.

See how these female figures on A. Mucha drawing fit in the depiction of the slumber of Winter (Earth), the daydreaming or awakening of Spring (Water), the confidence of awareness of Summer (Air), the reflective and meditative state of Autumn (Fire).

There is also an interesting relation to our modern life and a sort of confirmation of the reliability of the four elements - there are four main sources of renewable energy:

The Fifth Element

Apart from the four suits used in card decks, there is a unique fifth element in the Tarot deck, the Major Arcana. These are the forces behind Providence, something beyond our everyday reach, the forces that ultimately shape the four elements, the Archetypes.

Pentacles - Earth
Swords - Air
Cups - Water
Wands - Fire

The World card depicts four ancient emblems in its corner:
- a man
- a eagle
- a bull
- a lion

They relate to the four Zodiac signs: Aquarius (Air), Scorpio (Water) (in ancient times also represented as the bird of prey with its strong beak and talons), Taurus (Earth) and Leo (Fire).

These are the four fixed modalities of the Zodiac and have been used in Christian symbology to represent four Evangelists, authors of the New Testament's main components.

The Magical Seven

The extraordinary prevalence of the number seven is present in many cultures and spans over centuries.

There were seven wonders of the classical world; seven wise men in ancient Greece; beyond seven hills and seven rivers the story-telling begins; the seventh son of the seventh son is an incredibly important figure in fairy tales; there were also seven sisters; seven metals in alchemy, seven sins in Christianity, seven days of God's creation, so we have seven days in a week; seven continents, seven hills of Rome, seven heavens in Koran, there are seven worlds in Hindu mythologies, seven chakras in Eastern medicine, we have seven visible celestial bodies in our solar system, there are seven colours in the light spectrum, known as the rainbow; seven notes in the musical octave, and seven waves in the electromagnetic spectrum.

Clearly, the number seven tells us something.

In metaphysics, this number relates to seven basic vibrations, forming our world. In astrology, these are represented by Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn,

According to the hermetic doctrine: As above so below, the seven energies of the visible and invisible world can be pictured as below:

The seven forces/archetypes are the ever-present influences that shape our Universe, our world, and our life. The above diagram shows a metaphysical relation, not a scientific theory.

The seven 'bodies' have a particular meaning in astrology and metaphysics, but let's first start with the two middle columns: the Visible Light, and Electromagnetic Spectrum.

Visible Light

Light comes as seven basic colours through a prism. We know it as a rainbow. The ancient people perceived a rainbow as a message from the gods or the bridge to heaven. These seven colours happen to have a relation to the seven visible celestial spheres of our Solar System and main seven chakras.

In the reverse order:

Sun - Violet
Moon - Indygo
Mercury - Blue
Venus - Green
Mars - Yellow
Jupiter - Orange
Saturn - Red

Electromagnetic Spectrum

The electromagnetic spectrum is classified into seven basic types, however, all are manifestations of the same phenomenon - photons (light particles) travelling through space. Those ranges are divided into seven separate sections, due to their different interactions with matter. The frequencies of the waves are from a fraction of an atomic nucleus to thousands of miles.

Gamma rays (shortest wavelength)
X-rays
Ultraviolet
Visible light
Infrared
Microwaves
Radio waves (longest wavelength)

The longest wavelengths can be the size of the Universe itself.

The human eye can only see a short span of the electromagnetic spectrum, the Visible Light, the interplay of the seven basic colours.

All forms of electromagnetic radiation can be described as both waves and particles and this dual nature of light and matter is studied by quantum mechanics.

Gamma rays ('Sun'), are produced by nuclear reactions in the hottest and most energetic objects in the universe, such as neutron stars, pulsars, supernova explosions, and the areas around the mysterious black holes. The process of nuclear fusion powers the sun and all the other stars.

The energy of the gamma rays keeps the Sun’s core hot. Some of those gamma rays escape into the Sun's outer layers. As they lose energy, they change into ultraviolet, infrared and visible light. The infrared light allows the Earth to keep warm, and the visible light allows the plants to grow. The plants produce oxygen that sustains other organic life on Earth, including humans.

They are of the shortest wavelength and carry the most energy. With a strong penetration of matter, they can easily be deadly to biological life. Thanks to Earth's atmosphere, a large fraction of gamma rays from space is blocked. However, there are some small quantities of this radiation, generated by lightning bolts (in nature, in small quantities ) and by nuclear explosions (by humans) and a thick shielding of dense materials is necessary for dealing with this radiation directly.

X-rays ('Moon') come from extremely hot space objects, such as pulsars, remnants of galactic supernovae, binary systems with neutron stars, and the increment of black holes. The massive and compact space objects strip material from their neighbours to form an inward spiralling disk of hot X-rays. In some cases, the exact mechanisms of X-ray production are still uncertain or unknown.

They are similar to gamma rays in frequency and penetration but they are produced from a different atomic source. Gamma-rays come from nuclear reactions in the atomic nuclei, X-rays - by ejected accelerating electrons pushed to nearly the speed of light. The acceleration produces a very powerful beam of focused X-ray light. The Sun's corona radiates mostly x-rays.

X-rays are widely used to penetrate inside opaque objects -  most well-known in medical radiography, tomography, airport security scanners; in the industry for testing of flaws and cracks in solid structures, in astronomy, for the study of distant celestial objects. X-ray radiation is also used to kill tumour cells, and in agriculture, the irradiation of some foods is used to inhibit the growth of bacteria.

X-rays are actually faintly visible to the dark-adapted naked eye but the dangers and harm do not allow for many experiments.

Ultraviolet (UV) ('Mercury') is present in 10 per cent of the Sun's radiation, the sunlight. It is also produced by mercury-vapour lamps, tanning lamps, and black lights. It can cause chemical reactions and causes many substances to glow or fluoresce.

Effects of exposure of the skin to UV light causes sunburn along with an increased risk of skin cancer.  Part of ultraviolet light, however, is also responsible for the formation of vitamin D. The UV spectrum, thus, has effects both beneficial and harmful to life. Insects, birds, and some mammals can see near-UV.

Visible light ('Venus') can be perceived by the human eye. The main source of light on Earth is the Sun. It provides energy for the plants to grow and the process of photosynthesis provides virtually all the energy used by other living organisms.

Historically, another important source of light for humans has been fire and with the development of electricity, electric lighting. Some species of animals generate their own light, a process called bioluminescence. The study of light, known as optics, is an important research area in modern physics.

The light speed - 299,792,458 meters per second, is one of the fundamental constants of nature. All types of electromagnetic radiation always move at this speed in a vacuum.

Infrared (IR) ('Mars') is emitted or absorbed by molecules when they change their rotational-vibrational movements. Generally invisible to the human eye, although light from specially pulsed lasers can be seen under certain conditions. Most of the thermal radiation emitted by objects near room temperature is infrared.

Nearly half of the total energy from the Sun that arrives on Earth is in the form of infrared and it has a critical effect on Earth's climate.

Infrared radiation is used in a variety of applications. There are extensive uses in the military such as target surveillance and tracking.  Night-vision devices use near-infrared radiation for the detection of living organisms, for example. Infrared thermal equipment is used to detect heat loss in insulated systems, to detect overheating, in weather forecasting, and in short-range wireless communication, where signals travel from a few centimetres to several meters.

Microwave ('Jupiter') travel by line-of-sight, following the Earth's surface, or reflect from the ionosphere. Terrestrial microwave communication is limited by the visual horizon to about 40 miles (64 km).

Microwaves are widely used in the modern world, for example in wireless networks, television, mobile phones, radars, satellites, spacecraft communication, remote sensing, amplifiers, collision avoidance systems, garage door opening, keyless entry systems, and microwave ovens.

Microwave transmitters and receivers, the dish antennas, produce microwave beams that can be directed like a torchlight. Microwave radar is widely used for guiding aeroplanes and vessels, and for detecting speeding motorists.

The microwaves have a heating effect and destroy a living tissue when the temperature of the tissue exceeds 43° C. Exposure to intense microwaves is harmful, the lens of the human eye is particularly affected. A repeated and extended exposure can result in cataracts. Microwaves can have adverse effects on the electrochemical balance of the brain and the development of a fetus.

Microwave cosmic background radiation is considered by many to be the remnant of the primaeval fireball by the Big-Bang.

Radio waves ('Saturn') are generated by charged particles undergoing acceleration, such as time-varying electric currents. Naturally occurring radio waves are emitted by lightning and space objects.

Generated artificially are used by transmitters and received by radio receivers, using antennas. Widely used in modern technology for mobile radio communication, broadcasting, radar and radio navigation systems, communications satellites, wireless computer networks and many other applications.

Radio waves can penetrate nonconducting materials, such as wood, bricks, and concrete, fairly well, however, a radio wave may be disturbed by buildings and other large objects.

A combination of radio waves and strong magnetic fields is used by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to produce diagnostic pictures of parts of the human body and brain without apparent harmful effects.

To prevent interference between different users, the artificial generation and use of radio waves are strictly regulated by law, coordinated by an international body called the International Telecommunications Union (ITU). The radio spectrum is divided into a number of radio bands on the basis of frequency, allocated to different uses.

Musical Octave

It contains number eight, as the 'do' is repeated in a higher tone at its end. It relates to cycles within cycles, doubling its own frequency. The octave is a natural phenomenon that has been referred to as the "basic miracle of music", the use of which is "common in most musical systems".

The major scale is one of the most commonly used musical scales. It is made up of seven notes and two different systems to name them:

C D E F G A B (C)
and
DO RE MI FA SOL LA SI (DO)

In terms of music, an octave is a distance between one note (like C#) and the next note bearing its same name (the next C# that’s either higher or lower).

In terms of physics, an octave is a distance between one note and another note that’s double its frequency. For instance, note A4 is the sound of vibration at 440 Hz. Note A5 is the sound of vibration at 880 Hz. Going in the other direction, note A3 is the sound of vibration at 220Hz.

Isaac Newton had associated the seven solfège syllables with the seven colours of the rainbow and surmised that each colour vibrated accordingly. Thus, red has the least amount of vibration while violet vibrates the most.

Pitch Solfège

C do         Red / Saturn
D re     Orange / Jupiter
E mi     Yellow / Mars
F fa     Green / Venus
G sol         Blue / Mercury
A la     Indigo / Moon
B ti/si      Purple/Violet / Sun

Chakras

The relation to the rainbow spectrum with the seven main chakras can be interpreted as the human body is a heavenly bridge between Earth/Matter and Space/Spirit. More about it in a separate article.

Alchemical Seven

Seven 'planets' had been related to the seven metals in alchemy:

Sun - Gold
Moon - Silver
Mercury - Mercury
Venus - Copper
Mars - Iron
Jupiter - Tin
Saturn - Lead

Traditional hermetism (alchemy) ascribes these colours to the Sun, Moon and planets:

Sun - Gold
Moon - Silver
Mercury - Yellow/Orange
Venus - Green
Mars - Red
Jupiter - Violet
Saturn - Black/ Brown

Seven Days of the Week

The Greeks named the days week after the sun, the moon and the five known planets, which were in turn named after the gods: Hermes, Aphrodite, Ares, Zeus, Cronos. The Greeks called the days of the week the Theon hemerai "days of the Gods". The Romans substituted the Greek names with equivalent gods:  Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jove (Jupiter), Saturn.
The Germanic people generally substituted roughly similar gods for the Roman gods, Tiu (Tyr), Woden, Thor, Frey, but did not substitute Saturn. It has been adopted in the English language.
There is some confusion left, mixing Mercury with Mars, and Venus with Jupiter. Let's put it straight:

Sunday -- Sun's day

Monday -- Moon's day

Tuesday -- Tiu's day - Mercury's day

Wednesday -- Woden's day, Venus' day

Thursday -- Thor's day, Mars' day

Friday -- Freya's day, Jupiter's days

Saturday -- Saturn's day

Seven Parts of a Plant

fruits - Moon
seeds - Mercury
flowers - Venus
leaves - Mars
stem and branches - Jupiter
roots - Saturn

The Seven in Astrology

Most of us are familiar with the saying, after the book, The Women are from Venus, The Men are from Mars. What about the character of other celestial spheres? Jupiter is the archetype for a king-boss person and the mature age. Saturn is a personification of old age and the elderly. Mercury is a youngster and youthfulness. Moon is the archetypal mother, and Sun - the father.

In individual life, the Sun is conception, the Moon is the prenatal period and the birth, Mercury is childhood, Venus and Mars are adolescence years, Jupiter is adulthood, Saturn - the old age.

Seven Stages of Human History

Saturn
Stone Age. Hunters-Gatherers. Matriarchal.

Jupiter
Bronze Age. Patriarchal gods ex. Marduk, Zeus, Jupiter, Yahweh, and tribal, territorial kings. Agriculture.

Mars
Iron Age. Warriors and conquerors. The era of great empires of Alexander the Great, Roman Empire, Byzantine Empire, Holy Roman Empire.

Venus
Renessainse. The high development of the Arts and Humanities.

Mercury
The Age of Reason and Information. Development of Science and Technology.

Moon
Rise of Feminine powers, which also means motherly influence such as a deep sense of belonging and thus nationalism. We are on the verge of it or out of it.

Sun
Divinity, Ascension, Lightbody.

Each subsequent cycle is much shorter than the previous one, the same as it goes with the length of waves in the electromagnetic spectrum.
