Sun in Astrology

The first drawing a child does is that of the sun. The same pattern is observed throughout early human cultures, where sun discs appeared all over the world. Sun-worship had once been prevalent among the people of the pre-historic cultures. It is light-consciousness-giving force.

Sun is the primary focus in astrology. It is base of our personality. It fuels with particular seasonal energy - what shines through in any particular time. The nature of our Sun sign is our display to the world. We see life through our Sun sign.

The first glance is on whether the Sun is strong or weak:

Strong Sun

Extrovert. The "boss" and master of circumstances; strong self-confidence, self-reliance, courage, success, healthy physical disposition, leadership qualities, strong will, creativity;  Ability to rule and make things happen. Could make a person overly proud and self-centred; pompousness, vanity, conceit, egotism.

Weak Sun

Introvert. 'Follower' rather then initiator and doer. Empathy. Contemplation. Doubting. Weakness.  Problems with authority figures. Attempts to feel overly important.

Sun sign in Women's charts:

Influences of father figure. May be attracted to men with this type of Sun sign energy.

Sun sign in Men's charts:

Persona, pride and ego gratification. The need for recognition, ambition, fame, fortune or importance in the world.

In traditional astrology all 12 Zodiac Signs are divided into three sections, called decanants. This is helpful to distinguish different character traits of one Zodiac Sign.
